What is FeedbackHawk?

FeedbackHawk is a service used by local businesses (such as salons, contractors, and dental offices) to request Google reviews from their customers via SMS. After you visit a business that uses FeedbackHawk, you may receive a one-time text message asking you to leave a review.

How Consent is Collected

  1. You visit a local business (e.g., get a haircut at a salon)
  2. At checkout or during your visit, the business asks if they can send you a text requesting a review
  3. You provide verbal consent and share your phone number
  4. The business enters your phone number into FeedbackHawk
  5. FeedbackHawk sends you ONE text message with a link to leave a Google review
  6. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out of future messages
  7. No further messages are sent unless you visit the business again and consent again

Verbal Consent Script

At checkout, the business staff asks:

"Are you ok with us sending you a quick text with a link to leave us a Google review?"

If the customer agrees, the staff asks:

"Great, what's your mobile number?"

The customer verbally provides their phone number, completing the opt-in process. No message is sent without this explicit verbal agreement.

Consent Documentation & Storage

When a business enters a customer's phone number into FeedbackHawk, this action serves as documentation that verbal consent was obtained. The system records:

  • The phone number provided by the customer
  • The business that collected consent
  • The timestamp of when consent was recorded

After opt-in, the customer receives a review request SMS which confirms their enrollment. All messages include STOP opt-out instructions.

What Messages Will I Receive?

  • Content: A friendly message with a direct link to leave a Google review for the business you visited.
  • Frequency: Typically one message per visit. Maximum 1-2 messages including a possible reminder.
  • Cost: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier.

How to Opt Out

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive. Once you opt out, you will not receive any further messages from that business through FeedbackHawk.

Your Privacy

We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties. Your number is only used to send the review request on behalf of the business you visited.

Business Responsibility

Businesses using FeedbackHawk are required to obtain your consent before adding your phone number to our system. If you believe you received a message without proper consent, please contact us immediately.
